Leader of the Pack Canine Center is extremely proud of it’s therapy dog program!

The Program is designed to teach & evaluate the skills of both dogs & handlers in preparation for the therapy dog evaluation test at the end of the course.

This is an intense course that covers a lot of material in a short time. Both dogs & handlers are required to learn many methods of interacting with clients, staff & dogs. They must be knowlegable of the rules of their chosen therapy dog registration organization and the wishes of the facility you will be visiting.

The class includes role-playing, behavioral analysis, training for unexpected situations and familiarizing the team with their role in the visits.

The 8 week class requires the dog have either passed the Canine Good Citizen test sponsored by the AKC or have instructor approval prior to registration.

Once certified by your selected therapy dog organization, you and your dog may begin visiting clients in certain establishments.

There is a desperate need for therapy dogs in the area – you and your best friend will never be bored or lonely again!!
